Findlay Crowned GLIAC Men's Basketball Champion; GLIAC Tournament Field Set
BAY CITY, Mich. - The University of Findlay men's basketball team claimed the 2010 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship outright with a thrilling 72-71 overtime victory at Tiffin University on Saturday. The Oilers took the crown by posting the league's best conference record of 17-5 (21-6 overall) and will take the No. 1 seed into the GLIAC Tournament which gets underway this Tuesday (Mar. 2).

The Oilers, who also claimed the GLIAC's South Division title, will begin GLIAC Tournament play by hosting the No. 8 seed Ashland University (13-14, 9-13 GLIAC) in quarterfinal action. Grand Valley State University (19-7, 15-6 GLIAC), which claimed the GLIAC's North Division title, earned the Tournament's No. 2 seed and will host seventh-seeded Wayne State University (14-12, 12-10 GLIAC) on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.
No. 3 seed Hillsdale College (14-12, 14-8 GLIAC) will host sixth-seeded Lake Superior State University (14-13, 10-12) on Tuesday, in the Jesse Phillips Arena, at 7:30 p.m. The final GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal matchup features No. 4 seed Saginaw Valley State University (16-11, 13-9 GLIAC) welcoming the No. 5 seed, Ferris State University (15-12, 13-9 GLIAC). That game will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in SVSU's Ryder Center.
The GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and Final will be held at the highest remaining seed after the Quarterfinals on Friday, Mar. 5 and Saturday, Mar. 6. The winner of the GLIAC Tournament receives and automatic bid to the NCAA Division Midwest Region Tournament.
