KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Findlay and LIU-C.W. Post, the last two
undefeated teams in NCAA Division II, retain the top two spots in
this week's NABC/Division II Coaches Poll while Central Oklahoma
also stays put at No. 3 as a new week of play begins. Findlay
(15-0) is the nation's No. 1-ranked team for the ninth consecutive
week, while the Pioneers (14-0) won twice last week to stay second
as did UCO (17-2) to remain third.
BYU-Hawaii (12-1) won its only game last week and moved to No. 4
after Augusta State's loss early last week at South Carolina Aiken
that dropped the Jaguars to seventh. Alderson-Broaddus (14-1)
moved into the top five, but had its 14-game winning streak ended
Monday night at West Liberty State in a game that will not be
reflected in the poll until next week.
Gannon heads the second five that also includes Augusta State, Bellarmine, Southwest Baptist and Stonehill, who leads the Northeast-10 Conference heading into a game Wednesday against a surging Bentley team. Northern Kentucky moved up three spots to No. 11 this week, followed by Armstrong Atlantic State, Minnesota State, South Carolina Aiken and Claflin.
The next five teams are led by two from the Gulf South Conference, Arkansas-Monticello and Christian Brothers, with Central Missouri, Southern Indiana and Winona State filling the next three slots.
The last five in this week's Top 25 include Benedict at No. 21, then Arkansas Tech, Northern State, Georgia College and State - the lone newcomer in the new rankings - and Catawba.
This week's schedule includes five head-to-head meetings between ranked teams, including Augusta State at Georgia College and State, Armstrong Atlantic State at South Carolina Aiken, Benedict at Claflin, Arkansas Tech at Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas-Monticello at Christian Brothers.
