BAY CITY, Mich. - Michigan Technological University sophmore quarterback Tyler Scarlett (Clarkston, Mich.) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) "Offensive Player of the Week" after leading the Huskies to a 42-14 win over Hillsdale College last Saturday. Northwood University senior linebacker Spencer Remtema (Rockford, Mich.) earned "Defensive Player of the Week Honors," while Northern Michigan University senior kicker Rockne Belmonte (Grand Rapids, Mich.) was tabbed "Special Teams Player of the Week."

Tyler Scarlett - Michigan Tech (SO, QB, 6-1, 215, Clarkston, Mich.)
Michigan Technological University's Tyler Scarlett completed 18-of-24 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-14 victory over Hillsdale College last Saturday (Nov. 3). The sophomore quarterback also had 47 rushing yards on six carries for 294 yards of total offense. Scarlett guided Tech on four touchdown drives in the opening half and was crucial in the Huskies' picking up 9-of-14 third downs. During the game, Scarlett broke his own school record for passing yards in a season (2,427) and added to the school record for passing touchdowns in a season (25).

Spencer Remtema - Northwood (SR, LB, 6-2, 215, Rockford, Mich.)
Spencer Remtema led Northwood's defense in a road victory at Ferris State on Saturday. The senior linebacker finished the game with 15 tackles (nine solo), three tackles for loss, a sack and a blocked extra point. He had a tackle for loss on a fourth and one for the Bulldogs to end a FSU drive in the second quarter. Remtema then had a tackle for loss followed by a sack early in the fourth quarter that turned first and 10 from the FS 42 into third and 17 from the FS 35. Over his last four games, Remtema has 51 tackles (12.8 per game) and had at least eight tackles in six straight games.

Rockne Belmonte - Northern Michigan (SR, PK/P, 6-1, 211, Grand Rapids, Mich.)
Northern Michigan University senior place kicker/punter Rockne Belmonte had a record breaking day as he led the Wildcats to a 33-28 victory over Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday. He made four field goals from 36, 46, 49 and 55 yards and broke NMU's record with the 42nd field goal of his career. The senior from Grand Rapids, Mich. also holds school records for most field goals in a season (15) and longest field goal (58 yards). Belmonte also handles the punting duties for the 'Cats and averaged 32 yards on seven punts.
