BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the recipients of the Spring 2008 GLIAC Commissioner’s Awards. The awards, sponsored by Meijer, Incorporated, are presented after the Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic seasons to six male and six female student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.

Lakers Claim 2008 GLIAC Baseball Championship With 13-6 Win Over Findlay

Midland, Mich. - A seven-run seventh inning broke open a close game and helped Grand Valley State claim the 2008 GLIAC Championship with a 13-6 win over Findlay in the GLIAC Tournament title game Saturday afternoon at Dow Diamond in Midland, Mich. GVSU (34-11) will now receive the GLIAC's automatic invitation to the NCAA DII Tournament.
