Kevin Coates - Lewis University
(FR, Freestyle/Butterfly, Louisville, Ky./Ballard)
  Lewis University freshman Kevin Coates, in his first collegiate meet, won the 1000-yard freestyle with an NCAA “B” cut time of 9:39.02 against Division I foe West Virginia University. He also finished first in the 500-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 4:44.16.
