Freshman forward Dan Howell led Gannon to a perfect 2-0 season-opening weekend with victories over Great Lakes Region foes Kentucky Wesleyan (3-0) and Southern Indiana (3-1). Howell, the 2005 GLIAC Freshman of the Year, dished out a pair of assists on the first two goals of the match against Kentucky Wesleyan. He scored the first goal of the match against Southern Indiana on a penalty kick 4:26 into the contest, then pushed the lead against USI to 3-1 with a goal 1:19 into the second half, a shot from 20 yards out into the upper right corner of the net.
