Eagles
Senior Rob Klenk (Kettering, OH/Fairmont) bettered his mark in the weight throw last week at the Central Missouri Classic. Klenk entered the event with the longest throw in the nation and extended that measurement to 69-2.75. That’s the second longest throw ever unleashed on the Division II level. The only competitor to better it is Klenk’s former teammate – Kibwe Johnson…junior Dan Tierney continues to thrive in the pole vault. Tierney has the best mark in the nation and he improved that figure last week at the Kent State Tuneup with an effort of 17-0.75…sophomore Max Hiltner (Wadsworth, OH) secured a place on the provisional list last week by running 1:53.36 in the 800 meters at Kent State…Ashland was ranked second in last week’s NCAA Division II national power rankings…the Eagles head to Findlay this weekend for the GLIAC Championships. Last year, AU was second at the conference meet and Bryan Vickers (Circleville, OH) was the field athlete of the meet..
