  The Eagles will open the 2008 season April 5-6, at the NCAA-II Great Lakes Regional Tournament II at Georgetown, Ky.

  Ferris State started out its spring season by tying for fifth place at The GEICO Intercollegiate (March 14-15) with a three-round 915 score (306-305-304=915) in the 16-team field at the Hunter Golf Club in Savannah, Ga. Sophomore Eric Lilleboe (Okemos/Lansing Catholic Central) claimed top individual medalist honors with a first-place 216-stroke total (70-73-73=216) while junior Kelbi Lee (Billings, Mont.) turned in a 235 score (77-78-80=235) to tie for 34th-place honors... The Bulldogs placed third among 11 teams at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational last weekend (March 29-20), which was held at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. Ferris State registered a 19-over par 595-team score (298-297=595) in the 36-hole tourney. Sophomore Kurt Valley (Bay City/Western) led the Bulldogs with a seventh-place tying three over par 147 score (71-76=147). Eric Lillieboe carded a 148 (74-74=148) to gain a share of ninth place while junior Derek Shelburne (Scotts/Vicksburg) fired a 150 (78-72=150) to tie for 17th place... Eric Lillieboe leads the Bulldogs this season with a current 73.50 stroke average (1,470 total strokes) in 20 rounds, which also includes four top-five individual finishes. Kurt Valley’s 75.35 average (1,507 total strokes) in 20 rounds ranks second best on the 2007-08 squad... Ferris State returns to the links this weekend, April 5-6, as the Bulldogs compete in the NCAA-II Great Lakes Regional Tournament II at Georgetown, Ky.

  The University of Findlay men’s golf team finished tied for fourth at the Bellarmine University Invitational on Tuesday, March 25 at Persimmon Ridge Golf Course in Louisville, Kentucky. The Oilers shot a two round score of 625 at the event after firing a 306 in the first round and a 319 in the second... Eric Atsma led Findlay at the event by taking ninth place with a score of 154. Atsma shot a 77 in both rounds...Kyle Brossia and Joe McGeean also added top 20 finishes for the Oilers as Brossia was 16th (73, 83 – 156) and McGeean was 20th (76, 81 – 157)... Adam Craig (85, 81 – 166), Kory Kotterman (87, 83 – 170) and Kyle Nickson (80, 80 – 160) also competed for Findlay.

  The Gannon men’s golf team has not started its spring season. The Golden Knights open spring play April 11-12 at the University of Findlay Invitational.

 Grand Valley State took first place out of 11 schools at the Parkside Invitational on March 29-30. Josh Orler shot a 139, four strokes ahead of the next competitor, to finish first overall at the event. The Lakers’ final score of 588 was one point ahead of second place Indianapolis. GVSU now travels to Georgetown, Ky. to take part in the Great Lakes Region Invitational #2 on April 5-6... Orler shot a daily low round of 69 on the first day to lead the pack, and the closed out with a 70 on day two to win with a score of 139. Orler was four strokes ahead of second place. Matthew Malloure tied for fourth place after tying Orler for the daily low round on day one. He shot a 77 on day two to finish at 146... Matt Johnson and Mike Basinski both finished tied for 30th place with a 154. Josh Burt and Tyler Hering were the final two competitors for GVSU, coming in at a tie for 48th place with a final score of 157.

Cardinals
    The SVSU Golf team finished up their Parkside Invitational tournament with a 296 in day two, and a 600 total score for the two rounds, which was good for fourth place in the tournament. Grand Valley won the tournament with a 588 total, while Indianapolis was second (589), and Ferris State was third with a 595 total... Seniors Sean Rutherford (East Lansing, Mich./Haslett) and Mike King (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) both shot a 72 today to lead the Cardinals, while junior Kasey Hocquard (Cheboygan, Mich.) was close behind with a 73 today. Junior Jonathan Lange (Midland, Mich./Bullock Creek HS) shot a 79 and sophomore Ronnie Coriasso (Grand Blanc, Mich.) shot an 80 to round out the Cardinal team. Sophomore Dieter Schultz (Port Huron, Mich./Northern HS) shot an 80 in his individual round, as well...The Cardinals are back in action next weekend when they take part in the Great Lakes Regional at Cherry Blossom Country Club in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Warriors
  The Wayne State golf team finished in eighth place at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational this weekend at Otter Creek Golf Course. The Warriors shot a team score of 303 in Saturday’s first round and 307 on Sunday for a total of 610. Brett Hudson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) was the top finisher for Wayne State, as he tied for fourth place at two over par (72-74—146). Ryan Johnson (New Boston, Mich.) and Joe Juszczyk (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) each tied for 24th with scores of 153, while Jack Mitroka (Riverview, Mich.) and Michael Wouters (Sterling Hts., Mich.) were a stroke behind in a tie for 30th. Eric Johnson (Marquette, Mich.) shot 79 both days to tie for 54th, and Bryan Lynch (White Lake, Mich.) finished in a tie for 69th (83-86—169). Wayne State will compete at the second of three Great Lakes Regional events next weekend, held at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.
