Lawrence Ross - Saginaw Valley State

Saginaw Valley State junior guard Lawrence Ross led the the Cardinals to a 58-55 home win over Wayne State on Saturday (Dec. 15) in the team’s only action last week. Ross tallied 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting including what turned out to be the game-winner with six seconds left in the game. He scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half that included a tip-in with 1:13 to go in the game to put the Cardinals up 51-50. Ross also pulled down seven boards and led the team with four assists, while adding two steals in the victory.
Steve Gansey - Ashland
(Sr, G, 6-3, Olmsted Falls, Ohio)
Senior guard Steve Gansey helped Ashland to improve to 3-1 in the GLIAC South Division after a 73-64 home win over Northern Michigan on Saturday (Dec. 15). Gansey recorded a career-high 23 points, leading all scorers in the contest, while shooting 8-of-9 (.889) from the field, including a 7-of-8 performance on the arc. He added six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the victory. Gansey, who is averaging 12.8 points per contest this season, is shooting .509 (28-55) on the arc this campaign and .526 (40-76) from the floor this campaign.
