Callistus Eziukwu - Grand Valley State

Senior center Callistus Eziukwu led #2 Grand Valley State University to road wins over Hillsdale (66-50) and Ashland (66-50) last week. Eziukwu, averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. He connected on 66.7 percent (12-18) of his shots from the floor and 73.3 percent (11-15) from the charity stripe. Callistus scored 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds at Hillsdale, then recorded a 19-point, 10-rebound effort at Ashland. Eziukwu was part of a defense that held its opponents to 29.8 percent shooting from the floor (31-104).

Division Player Of The Week
Tony Gugino - Hillsdale

Junior Tony Gugino established career-highs in both scoring and rebounding in back-to-back games last week. Against No. 2 GVSU on Thursday, Gugino led all players with 23 points and 14 rebounds. On Saturday, he poured in a career-high 41 points to help Hillsdale to a 74-54 win over Wayne State. He went 17-for-23 from the field in the game, and had a game-high 11 rebounds. In Tuesday’s win over Tiffin, he recorded 28 points and seven rebounds. In three games during the week, Gugino averaged 30.7 points and 10 rebounds per contest.
