Ben Minard - Ashland

Sophmore Ben Minard helped Ashland go 5-1 last week by posting a slugging percentage of 1.063 and an on-base percentage of .714. In last Saturday’s doubleheader with Tiffin (Ohio), he was 5-for-5 with five runs-batted-in. On the year, Minard is hitting .488 with two homers and 31 RBI, recording a slugging percentage of .640. He currently leads the GLIAC with in batting average, while ranking second in RBI, second in hits (42), fourth in on-base percentage (.520), fourth in total bases (55), and seventh in runs scored (25).

Pitcher Of The Week
Andrew Doyle - Saginaw Valley State

Sophomore left-hand pitcher Andrew Doyle picked up his fifth win and second shutout of the season in his only start of the week against Mercyhurst. In the Cardinals’ 3-0 win, he struck out eight batters while allowing only three hits and walking three. With the win, Doyle improves to 5-1 on the season and currently leads the GLIAC in strikeouts (53) and innings pitched (40.2), while his five wins is tied for the most in the league. He also ranks third in the GLIAC in opponents batting average (.218) and ranks fifth in earned run average (2.66).
