Tiffin SAAC Raises $447 for Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund

Tiffin SAAC brings back Pink Wave game

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Tiffin University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) brought pink to campus when it held its annual Pink Wave game on February 13, 2010 to support breast cancer research. It was the third consecutive year that Tiffin joined the Womens Basketball Coaches Association in the Pink Zone initiative.

As Tiffins womens basketball donned pink jerseys to take on Lake Superior State, SAAC organized several breast cancer awareness activities. A luncheon was held for breast cancer survivors, and SAAC members gave out free candy with breast cancer facts attached. In addition, they offered ribbons in exchange for donations, sold Pink Wave t-shirts, and sold raffle tickets. The raffle winners won baskets of Tiffin logowear that was generously donated by several Dragons sports teams. In all, $447 was raised for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
