SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The second annual
Cabin Fever GLIAC Pink Wave event at Lake Superior State raised
more than $1,400 for the fight against cancer.
LSSU softball and women's basketball players sold $1 tickets and
more than 160 winners took home prizes. The event was headed by
Laker assistant softball coach Karen Sutton-Boger, who is a breast
cancer survivor, and volunteer assistant coach Darla Dean. Winning
tickets were drawn on Feb. 20 during the Lakers' basketball game
against Ferris State.
LSSU softball players (pictured from left) Samantha Periard, Nicole
Carstensen, Nikki Stein and Lorrie Chaperon were instrumental in
their service to the project.
All proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
