Northern Michigan University Hires Larson As Sports Information Manager

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Northern Michigan University is pleased to announce the hiring of Calvin Larson as its sports information manager.

Larson spent the 2010-11 school year working in the sports information department at NMU. He was the main contact for women's soccer and volleyball in the fall, men's and women's basketball, women's swimming and diving and indoor track and field in the winter and women's outdoor track and field and men's golf in the spring.

"I love it here at NMU," said Larson. "The coaches, staff and athletes have made me feel welcome from the beginning. Marquette is a great place to live and work. I look forward to my continued work here at NMU and working with the SIDs in the GLIAC and CCHA."

Larson received a bachelor's degree in scientific and technical communication from Michigan Technological University. He was a member of MTU's sports information team as a student and was also a member of the men's basketball team for a season.

Prior to MTU, Larson spent a year at Finlandia University where he also participated in athletics. 

Larson is a native of Chassell, Mich. and enjoys playing basketball, golfing and fishing in his spare time.
