PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Lake Erie College Director of Athletics Griz Zimmermann announced Tuesday (Jan. 4) the hiring of Carley Hrusovsky as the school’s Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations as well as the promotion of Kim Mariotti to Assistant to the Director of Athletics.
“We’re excited and fortunate to have Carley join our department and for Kim to take on an increased role within our administrative team,” said Zimmermann. “They bring experience, excitement and energy that will be beneficial in the growth of Storm athletics and help enhance the services we provide to student-athletes, staff, the Lake Erie community and friends and supporters of our programs.”
Hrusovsky comes to Lake Erie from Dartmouth College where she
served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and was
responsible for the day-to-day compliance operations for nearly
1,000 student-athletes in 34 varsity sports. At Lake Erie,
she will direct and oversee the areas of compliance, athletics
academic services and department budget reconciliation for 23
varsity sports teams while serving as a liaison between several
College departments.
In her primary role, she will work to ensure the Storm teams, along with faculty, staff and boosters, operate within institutional, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
“I’m very excited to join a growing department here at Lake Erie,” Hrusovsky said. “I am looking forward to working with the student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff here and taking on a larger leadership role within Storm athletics.”
A double graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in education (2008) and master’s in business administration (2009), Hrusovsky was a compliance assistant at her alma mater before going to Dartmouth. A four-year letter winner and captain of the women’s golf team, she also served as an assistant coach for the Falcons. As a player, she was twice named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team and the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
Hrusovsky is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) and the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC).
Mariotti was appointed to her new post after serving as the graduate assistant in the athletic facilities and game operations department for the past 16 months. Her responsibilities include directing the day-to-day administration for the Director of Athletics and providing administrative support to head coaches and staff.
“I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to be a
graduate assistant here at Lake Erie College and becoming a
full-time employee not only allows me to stay here and continue in
the department’s success, but also provides me with great
career experience,” Mariotti said.
A 2009 graduate of Regis College with a degree in liberal studies with a concentration in health and fitness, Mariotti played on the Pride women's basketball team as a four-year starter and three-year captain. She is a member of the 1,000-point club, was a member of the first playoff teams at Regis since 1996 in her junior and senior seasons and was the Mother Regis award winner in 2009 for outstanding service, leadership and dedication.
She also earned both all-conference and all-academic team honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference and was an undergraduate intern for the assistant athletic director for operations at Regis.
A native of Springfield, Mass., Mariotti is pursuing a Masters' degree in Science of Education at Lake Erie and serves as the residence director of Fowler Hall.
