LSSU A.D. Kris Dunbar Inducted into U.P. Sports Hall of Fame

ESCANABA, Mich. - The 2011 Class of the 40th Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame was inducted at Danforth Place in Escanaba (Mich.) Saturday.  Lake Superior State University Director of Athletics, Kris Dunbar, was among those inducted.

Dunbar, who played for and coached the Lake Superior State women's basketball team, is the current director of athletics at LSSU. Dunbar became LSSU's athletic director in 2006 and oversees 15 varsity sports. She is the daughter of Tim and Pat Bullock. Tim Bullock was inducted into the U.P. Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.

"I remember when my dad was writing his speech for his U.P. Sports Hall of Fame induction," Dunbar told the Soo Evening News prior to Saturday's induction. "It's humbling to join a prestigious group like this. It's nice that my parents and family will be there for the banquet Saturday."

Kris is married to Al Dunbar, and they are the parents of two boys, Tyler (7) and Jaylen (5).
