Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and our
member schools are teaming up to help end the battle against      Breast Cancer.
     Breast Cancer Facts:
182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be

             discovered in 2008.
66,670 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer will be
             discovered in 2008.
40,930 deaths from breast cancer are expected in 2008.
Breast cancer ranks 2nd in cancer related deaths in
             women (behind only lung cancer).
Death rates from breast cancer have decreased by about
             3% annually since 1990.
Better education, early detection, better treatment are
all contributing factors for the decrease in deaths.
